Man shot multiple times in Garland County

Authorities say a man was shot multiple times Thursday night in Garland County.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. as the victim pulled up to a residence on Icom Place near Tatum Street just south of Hot Springs.

Garland County sheriff's office Lt. James Martin said in an e-mail Friday that 26-year-old Travis Skaggs was identified as the victim.

Martin said that Skaggs told investigators two men attacked him, took an undisclosed amount of cash and shot him when he ran. Police say the man was "shot multiple times in a lower extremity."

The victim reportedly walked a short distance after being shot before calling out for help. Nearby residents called police. Martin said Skaggs' current condition was unknown, but confirmed the victim was taken to a Little Rock hospital and had not been released as of Friday afternoon.

"Investigator's still have no motive or suspects, but the investigation has continued throughout the day," Martin wrote.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
