It happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 530 about 6 miles north of Pine Bluff.

According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, a Ford Crown Victoria driven by Traci C. Dorn was heading north on the highway when it veered off the shoulder, entered a ditch and struck a tree. Police say the wreck happened in rainy conditions.

A passenger, identified as Pine Bluff resident Anthony C. Nelson Jr., died from his injuries. Dorn, a Pine Bluff resident whose age was not included in the report, was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff with unspecified injuries.
