Riverfest's headline acts announced

The headlining musical acts for this year's Riverfest will include Daughtry, Bush, Dierks Bentley, Lupe Fiasco, Kelly Rowland and Peter Frampton, officials announced Thursday.

Other performers at the annual music and arts festival, to be held May 24-26 in Little Rock, will include Blackstone Cherry, Sugar Ray, Cody Belew, Florida Georgia Line, Rodney Atkins, Jana Kramer, Darius Rucker and the Drive By Truckers.

Local and regional entertainers will be announced in the coming weeks, Riverfest officials said.

Advance, half-price tickets go on sale Monday at Walgreen's stores. where $17.50 will buy three-days' admission, Riverfest officials said. Children 6 and under may attend for free.

For $17.50, a single act or two is a bargain.

Getting the Drive By Truckers makes a great 3-year run of Southern Jam bands following Widespread Panic and Government Mule.

It's always fun to discover a couple of newer bands that you can look back one day and say "remember when they played at the _____Stage?" Then they play Verizon a year or two later for $75 tickets.
