Emily Dawn Middleton became the bride of Benjamin David Williams at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Alda’s Magnolia Hill. The Rev. Dan Reuben Robinson II officiated.
Parents of the bride are Hazel Middleton of Little Rock and Dr. Donald G. Middleton of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. Her grandparents are Lois Bolton Wyatt and the late William A. Wyatt of San Marcos, Texas, and the late Donnie and Edwin Middleton of Hughes Springs, Texas.
Carolyn and David Williams of Texarkana are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Harvey Cook, the late Barbara Cook and the late Elizabeth and Fred Williams, all of Texarkana, Texas.
Vows were exchanged in front of a mantel decorated with two antique urns filled with pink cabbage roses, hanging amaranthus and curly willow, along with smaller arrangements in mercury glass containers. Music was by guitarist and vocalist Michael Shepherd.
The bride and her father arrived in a 1938 Packard. She wore an ivory strapless gown with a draped sweetheart bodice embellished at the waist with crystal beaded embroidery. Shecarried a bouquet of hot pink and ivory roses, light pink peonies and coffee berry.
Serving as the bride’s matrons of honor were her sisters, Caroline Middleton Holcomb and Donna Middleton Robinson, both of Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Katie Allen Middleton of Sherwood; Lisa Skinner Newton of Little Rock; Elisabeth Parish of Dallas; and Cara Rochelle of Texarkana, Texas. They wore aquamarine strapless cocktail-length dresses and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Flower girls were Abby Shepherd of Van Buren and Molly Mentzel of Oklahoma City, both nieces of the groom. Ring bearers were Stratton Robinson of Little Rock, nephew of the bride, and Will Shepherd of Van Buren, nephew of the groom.
Best man was Paul McGuire of Plano, Texas. Groomsmen were Joshua Middleton of Little Rock, brother of the bride; Mark Coleman of Texarkana; Matthew Comer of Bossier City,La.; Joseph Hall of Junction City; and Christopher Peterman of Cincinnati. Guests were seated by Marsh Alkire of Austin, Texas, and Price Smith of Texarkana, Texas.
A tented reception at Magnolia Hill followed the ceremony. Tables covered in ivory-colored cloths in the tent and an adjacent barn were decorated with candles in mercury glass holders and arrangements of pink roses and wedding flowers. The buffet held an arrangement of cabbage roses, hanging amaranthus and blossoming branches. Music was by Brenda and Ellis.
The bride graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor’s degree in human environmental sciences. She is pursuing a medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
The groom is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia and has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He is a chemist at Novus International.
After a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple will live in Little Rock.
