Kathryn Ann Nelson and Kirk Andrew Turnbo were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in First United Methodist Church, Jonesboro, with the Rev. John Miles officiating.

Karen and Bill Nelson of Jonesboro are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Lurlene and Billy Joe Nelson of Blytheville and the late Anna Lee Jones and Claude Jones of Wiseman.

The groom is the son of Susan and Alan Turnbo of Cabot. His grandparents are Joann and the late Al Turnbo of England and the late Glendene and L.C. James of Cabot.

The altar held two arrangements of roses, dahlias, viburnum and ranunculus in large silver vases. Music was by organist and pianist Brian Henkelmann.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a Mori Lee gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The dropped waist was embellished with a diamante applique and the ruffled organza and tulle skirt extended to a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of roses, dahlias, tuberose, hydrangeas, pink astilbe and waxflower.

Maid of honor was Joanna Watkins of Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Darcie Mowery of Mountain Home; Traci Goodson of Little Rock; Maegan Hill of Manilla; and Amanda Morris of Maumelle, sister of the groom. They wore one-shoulder chiffon gowns with ruched sweetheart bodices. They carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

The flower girl was Lucy Morris of Maumelle, niece of the groom.

Richard Morris of Maumelle, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Talbert of Conway; Robby Rorie of South Fulton, Tenn.; Amon Pendergist of Lonoke; and Brett Nelson of Rogers.

Guests were seated by Alex Justiss of Little Rock; Shawn Richardson of Raleigh, N.C.; Will Keller and Greg McCarroll, both of North Little Rock; and Nick Roberts of Fayetteville.

A reception at the Hilton Garden Inn in Jonesboro followed the ceremony. Guest tables were centered with arrangements of wedding flowers in crystal vases, candles and lanterns.

The bride is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway with a bachelor’s degree in health science. She also received a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the university. She is employed as an occupational therapist.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in biology and a doctorate of physical therapy from UCA. He is a physical therapist.

The couple will live in Maumelle after a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic.
