Arkansas revenue up sharply in April

Arkansas’ state net available revenue in April was sharply higher than in April 2012.

Revenue climbed 15 percent for the month to $642.8 million, $84 million more than a year ago.

The state has collected $4.146 billion in Fiscal 2013 so far, a jump of $240.1 million, or 6.1 percent, from Fiscal 2012.

The revenue was 4.1 percent, or $163.9 million, higher than forecast.

For the first 10 months of Fiscal 2013, gross general revenue is up 4.9 percent from a similar period in Fiscal 2012. Gross revenue is also 2.6 percent above forecasts.

Individual income tax collections are up sharply in Fiscal 2013, but sales and use tax collections are flat.

April income tax collections were up 21.9 percent compared with April 2012, while sales and use tax collections dropped 2.5 percent for the month.
