One-vehicle wreck kills Little Rock woman

A single-vehicle accident in Little Rock left a woman dead early Friday, the Little Rock Police Department has said.

Maria Allen, 21, of Little Rock was driving shortly after 4 a.m. to her job at the Starbucks at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport when she entered a curve on Airport Drive and lost control of her 2005 Chevrolet Impala, police said. The vehicle ran into a large sign pole, which crushed the driver's side door into the passenger side, killing Allen on contact, police said.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene by MEMS. She was alone in the vehicle.
