A high-risk sex offender was arrested Thursday after police found him living at a residence less than a half-mile from a Little Rock elementary school.
Carlos Reece, 37, is facing charges including failing to comply with the sex-offender registry and living too close to a school.
According to the Arkansas Crime Information Center, Reece is a level 3, or "high risk," sex offender with a first-degree sexual-abuse conviction and a registered address in Camden.
But authorities in Little Rock received information Reece was living in an apartment at 11401 Mesa Drive. He was found there and arrested on a warrant about 3:30 p.m.
The residence is less than a half-mile drive from Terry Elementary School at 10800 Mara Lynn Road.
