Retired Teachers Association Meeting
CONWAY — The Faulkner County Retired Teachers Association will meet for a traditional potluck meal at 1:30 p.m. in the Activity Center of First Baptist Church. The program will include installation of 2013-2014 officers and a slide show of the association’s activities of 2012-2013. Anyone who has retired from any position in education is welcome to attend. Restaurant 101 Seminar
RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present Restaurant 101 from 1-5 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University. This seminar will offer an overview of what it takes to open and run a successful restaurant by providing step-by-step details such as menu development, site configuration, personnel, financing, marketing, advertising and legal issues. Anyone who is new to the industry or wants to open a restaurant is encouraged to attend. The cost is $40. Registration is required by calling (479) 356-2067.

Pool Passes
RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department is selling individual pool passes for $75 each for the M.J. Hickey Pool. Reservations for private pool parties are also available. Passes may be purchased or reservations made from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Hughes Community Center, 1000 E. Parkway. For more information, call (501) 968-1272.

Audubon Society Meeting
CLINTON — The Little Red River Audubon Society will meet May 28 at Western Sizzlin’ Restaurant. There will be a Dutch-treat dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Don Culwall, retired University of Central Arkansas botany professor, will discuss Arkansas’ trees. Sacred Heart School Bazaar
MORRILTON — Sacred Heart School will host a bazaar from 6-11 p.m. May 31 and from 5 p.m. to midnight June 1 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church parking lot, 506 E. Broadway. There will be food; games; a silent auction; and a Kiddie Land, featuring a petting zoo, a basketball shoot, a bounce house, a dunking booth and more. An all-you-can-eat dinner will be served from 5-8:30 p.m. June 1 only. Boxed dinners will be delivered from 4-6:30 p.m. The dinner costs $13 for adults and $6 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and younger may eat free. Drawings will be held at midnight June 1 for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 4x4, a Carnival cruise, a $1,000 gift certificate to Rackley Furniture, a 47-inch 3D Edge LED/HD TV, jewelry from Magie Jewelers and a trip to Las Vegas. Scenes from Oliver!
CONWAY — Members of the Arkansas Shakespeare Theater will perform scenes from the company’s upcoming musical production of Oliver! at 7 p.m. June 3 at the Faulkner County Library. Performers will remain to talk about their craft and the Arkansas Shakespeare Theater. Refreshments will be served. All library events are free and open to the public.
