First Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs was the setting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, for the marriage of Catherine Alexander Moll and Laurence Martyn Hammond. The Rev.

Stewart Smith of First Presbyterian in Springdale officiated.

Mary and Mark Moll of Fort Smith are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Harry Shipley and the late Mary Shipley, both of Fort Smith, and the late William T. Couch of Hot Springs.

The groom is the son of Delia and Martyn Hammond of Memphis. His grandparents are the late Helena and Peter Coleman of London and the late Margaret and Arthur Hammond of Nottingham, England.

The chancel held two large arrangements of snapdragons, hydrangeas, dahlias and stock in shades of ivory, blush pink and purple.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a trumpet gown of ivory guipure lace over ivory Italian satin with a chapel train. She wore her mother’s cathedral-length wedding veil of illusion edged with ivory Alencon lace. Her European bouquet was filled with vandella and sheer bliss roses.

Maid of honor was Mimi Moll of Washington, sister of bride. Bridesmaids were Mary Downing of Atlanta, cousin of the bride; Cortney Ellis of Fort Smith; Katherine Wright of Houston; Meredith Moll of Hot Springs; and Lindsey Spears of Midland, Texas. They wore dark purple, one-shoulder cocktail-length dresses and carried pink and purple bouquets of roses, lisianthus, dahlias, stock and freesia.

Flower girl and ring bearer were Aven Wright and Trajan Wright, niece and nephew of the groom and both of Houston.

Austin Hammond of Memphis was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Clark of Mabelvale; Addison Dunn of Fayetteville; David Hesselbein and Bill Mabrey, both of Little Rock; and Tommy Moll of Hot Springs.

Guests were seated by David Fordof Hot Springs; Nyle Koonce of Little Rock; Nick Makris of Pine Bluff; and Jacob Spears of Midland.

A reception followed at Couchwood in Hot Springs, the bride’s family summer home. Arrangements of ivory and pink flowers decorated the mantel, the bride’s table and guest tables overlooking Lake Catherine.

The bride graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she received the W.T. Dungan Award for Excellence in Pediatrics and Jeanne K. Heard Award for Excellence in Clinical Skills. She is a resident pediatrician at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

The groom graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He is general manager of General Construction Services and manager of B and B Specialty Contractors.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Little Rock.
