Student Production

CONWAY – World-renowned theater artist Daniel Stein will direct a student production of his play Still. Going Forward Backward at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Cabe Theatre at Hendrix College. The production is co-sponsored by the Hendrix College Department of Theatre Arts and Dance and the Hendrix-Murphy Foundation for Literature and Language, which provides yearly support for the visiting-director program. The Hunger Games

CONWAY —Silver Moon Cinema will show The Hunger Games at 7:30 p.m. at the Conway Expo Center, 2505 E. Oak St. The cost of the outdoor movie is $1. Proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association. The event is sponsored by the Conway Parks and Recreation Department. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Heber Springs Driver’s Class

HEBER SPRINGS — There will be an AARP Driver Safety Program class from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the McCoy Room of the Administration/Student Services Building at the Arkansas State University-Heber Springs campus. Individuals 55 and older who complete the course will qualify for a three-year discount on their automobile-insurance premiums in Arkansas. The course costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. The fee may be paid in cash or by check (payable to AARP). The Locals Fundraiser

CONWAY — The Locals coffee shop and retail space will hold a launch party and fundraising event at 6 p.m. at 1024 Van Ronkle St. The event will include music performances, games and contests for prizes, and more. Performers will include the up-and-coming local folk-rock band Big Ginsburg, Swampbird, and the Pneumatic Girls with Jack Alberson, a University of Arkansas alum from Memphis. I Hope I Get It!

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Tech University Music Theatre Workshop will offer its Broadway-inspired fall 2013 cabaret, I Hope I Get It!, at 7 p.m. in the Williamson Hall Dining Room. Fall Festival

OPPELO — Riverview Baptist Christian School’s 41st annual Fall Festival will be held Saturday at the school, 123 Riverview Road in Oppelo. The event will feature a meal of Petit Jean ham, turkey, dressing and all the trimmings, silent and live auctions, a cakewalk, a treasure hunt, a hay ride, a jailhouse, a bounce house, a bounce slide, a Pies and More store, and other games and activities. Dinner tickets are $ 9 for adults, $ 8 for senior citizens and $7 for children 5-12. Children younger than 5 may eat free. The dinner will be served from 4:30-7: p.m. in the cafeteria, and other activities will be from 6-7:30 p.m. in the gym. The silent auction will end at 7:45 p.m. Proceeds will be used to purchase book, supplies and technology for the classrooms, some play equipment and materials for minor renovations in the gymnasium. Food for Fines

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library will hold its Food for Fines program for the

Thanksgiving season. The library will accept nonperishable food items through Nov. 22. Donated items will be given to local shelters and food pantries for the holidays. Art Exhibit and Reception

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Department of Art will present the BA/BFA Juried Senior Exhibition. Works in all media by candidates for graduation will be on view through Dec. 5 in the McCastlain Hall Baum Gallery. A public reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 17. Gallery hours each week are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

UCA Chorus Fall Concert

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Little Red River Audubon Society will present Carolyn Goettsch’s Carolyn’s South American Adventure, a photographic presentation of the field trip Goettsch took with Heifer International, along with a side trip to the Galapagos Islands to view wildlife.
