Man charged with assault after spitting in officer's face, report says

An intoxicated man threatened to kill one police officer and then spit in the face of another lawman after being arrested Sunday night, authorities said.

Shaun George, 38, was booked into the Pulaski County jail on charges including first-degree assault, two counts of terroristic threatening and public intoxication, as well as three outstanding warrants, reports show.

Authorities responded about 6:30 p.m. to 1601 N. Bryant St., where they found George smelling strongly of alcohol and unable to stand, according to a Little Rock Police Department arrest report.

George was taken to St. Vincent Hospital, where he threatened to kill a police officer and an emergency room doctor, the report said. Also at the hospital, he spit in the face of a second officer, police said.

George remained in jail Monday morning with bail set at $6,100. He's due in court Nov. 18.
