Though T-shirts with declarations of devotion for sports teams or major cities — I heart New York as an example — are nothing new, Arkansas is something of a trend-setter in the T-shirt world, says Leslie Nelson, manager of Little Rock boutique Box Turtle. Creative designers here have been capitalizing on that pride of place and sense of belonging for years.
