— Springdale Har-Ber senior defensive lineman Josh Frazier, the top football recruit in the state of Arkansas, has verbally committed to play at the University of Alabama next season.

Frazier (6-foot-4, 308 pounds) announced his decision Saturday night on Twitter. He had offers from several major football programs, including Arkansas, and is rated by Rivals as the fifth-best defensive tackle in the country.

Through 11 games this season, Frazier had 43 tackles and 5 sacks for Har-Ber, whose season ended Friday night with a loss to Conway. Frazier also had a game-winning interception in an overtime game against Fayetteville in the regular season.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Frazier will be able to sign a national letter of intent in February.
