Har-Ber defensive tackle Josh Frazier works out during a 2013 preseason practice.

— Springdale Har-Ber senior defensive lineman Josh Frazier, the top football recruit in the state of Arkansas, has verbally committed to play at the University of Alabama next season.

Frazier (6-foot-4, 308 pounds) announced his decision Saturday night on Twitter. He had offers from several major football programs, including Arkansas, and is rated by Rivals as the fifth-best defensive tackle in the country.

Through 11 games this season, Frazier had 43 tackles and 5 sacks for Har-Ber, whose season ended Friday night with a loss to Conway. Frazier also had a game-winning interception in an overtime game against Fayetteville in the regular season.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Frazier will be able to sign a national letter of intent in February.

Who could blame him for leaving the state considering the play of the Razorbacks. Just don't cross back over that river after you finish your time at Alabama and expect to be welcomed with open arms.

After a nice pro career, he could always come back and do radio for razorback games.

I wish he had timed his tweet better. Right after a heartbreaking loss to MSU and the last chance for a SEC victory? Surely he could have waited a day or two.
I do wish him the best but hope that he does not see any playing time for a couple of years.

Good choice, better coaching, better team, and better school
