Officials with the Paragould Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 4-year-old boy dead on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a call of a boy with a gunshot wound to an unknown location, according to a statement on the Paragould Police Department's website.
Once there, authorities contacted the Greene County Coroner’s Office, which pronounced the boy dead at the scene.
A spokesman for the department said no further information would be released at this time. Greene County Coroner Dick Pace was able to confirm the boy's age but could not immediately provide other details.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
