Little Rock police work the scene Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, after the U.S. Bank branch at 6320 W. Markham St. was robbed.

Police are searching for a robber who held up a U.S. Bank on Tuesday morning.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said it happened shortly before 10 a.m. at the location near Park Plaza Mall at 6320 W. Markham St.

Speaking at the scene while investigators worked inside, Davis said the robber did not display a weapon but indicated he had one before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He's described as a black man who stood about 6-foot-1, had a medium build and was wearing a black coat and blue jeans.

Three customers were inside the bank along with several employees. No one was injured.

The robbery was the third bank held up in a week in Little Rock, though a single suspect was arrested in both of the two previous cases. Those robberies occurred within an hour of each other Wednesday at the Summit Bank at 11121 Rodney Parham Road and the First Security Bank at 5900 Kavanaugh Blvd.

Davis said an uptick in robberies isn't uncommon this time of year.

"Around the holidays you do sometimes see an increase in robberies," she said.
