Two teens were arrested early Wednesday morning after an officer noticed one acting "suspiciously" and followed him.
According to a news release from the Benton Police Department, an officer on duty noticed a male individual dressed in dark clothing riding a bicycle near Lynnwood Drive. The officer followed him, then approached him after he fell off the bike, the release states.
As the officer was talking to the individual, later identified as Thomas Shirey, 18, a call from dispatch alerted officers of a vehicle break-in near the area where Shirey was seen riding. A description of one of the suspects in the case matched Shirey, police said.
An investigation revealed Shirey and another teen, identified Keith Moore, 19, had been breaking into cars in the area. Moore was later arrested without incident.
Both men were charged with felony theft of property and breaking and entering.
