A Little Rock man without a home was beaten and robbed Wednesday night after the two assailants offered to help him.
Little Rock police found the 23-year-old white male victim, originally of Texas, lying on the sidewalk of Sherman Street in downtown Little Rock after a passerby reported him to authorities, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.
Upon contact, police said, the victim told police that two men approached him about 6 p.m. and offered him a place to stay at their home, which he said was at 518 E. Seventh Street Apt. 30. The victim accepted and went into the apartment with the two men, the report states.
After the three men entered the apartment, the victim told police, the two men attacked and robbed him of his backpack and money. The victim then ran to the apartment's balcony and jumped to the ground in an attempt to escape, according to the report.
The victim described one robber as a 5-foot-10 white man with medium, straight, red hair, weighing 160 pounds and wearing bluejeans and a black hoodie at the time of the robbery. The other assailant was described as a 5-foot-9, 160-pound black man with a medium complexion. He wore a blue shirt and black pants, according to the report. Both robbers were described as being between the ages of 25 and 30.
The victim was later treated at a hospital for an injury to his foot, the report states.
