1 TRUCKING

More than two dozen mobile food vendors will be vending street eats, from fair food to goulash, at the third Main Street Food Truck Festival, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on and around four blocks of Main Street, which will be blocked off from Third to Seventh streets. The festival will also feature local musicians, a Heifer International Children’s Plaza, street performances and three beer gardens. There will be a raffle for a special “A Year of Fun in Downtown Little Rock” basket with tickets, VIP tours, museum memberships and even a prime downtown parking space for a year. Admission is free but, of course, you pay for your food - this year you pay the vendors directly instead of using scrip; Centennial Bank will be operating a mobile bank at Capitol Avenue and Main Street. BettySoo headlines “DennyWest,” an outdoor Americana acoustic music festival, Saturday at Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock. The festival features children-and-family entertainment 1-5 p.m., with Mister Morphis One Man Band & Reed Balentine, kicking off the evening schedule at 6:30. Gates open at noon for lunch and free hayrides around Wildwood’s lake. Tickets for afternoon events: $10, $5 for children 12 and younger, free for kids 5 and under. Evening tickets are $20, $10 for teens, $5 for children 12 and under. Take lawn chairs and blankets but no coolers; food concessions will be available on the grounds. Walk through the animals and help a cause at the Alzheimer’s Arkansas Little Rock Walk, Saturday at the Little Rock Zoo. There’s no registration fee required to participate in the walk, which includes food and music. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with the walk and program following at 8:30. Ballet Arkansas’ professional company opens its 2013-14 season with a program titled “Spring Into Motion,” 7 p.m. today, not in Little Rock, but in the Fine Arts Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, under the banner of SEARK Concerts and sponsored by Union Bank & Trust Co. The program will include classic ballet, including “Black Swan pas de deux Mobile,” choreographed by Tomm Ruud, and portions of Don Quixote; and contemporary works choreographed by Peter Zweifel, Stephanie Thibeault, Leslie Schickel and Darrell Grand Moultrie. Arkansas Festival Ballet dancers will perform excerpts from Giselle and The Firebird and an original piece choreographed by University of Arkansas at Little Rock artist in residence Rhythm McCarthy to J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in At the Barre, 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, a studio performance at Arkansas Academy of Dance, Breckenridge Village Shopping Center, Interstate 430 and North Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock. Bret Michaels and Justin Moore headline a weekend of rocking at Musicfest El Dorado, 5 p.m.-midnight Friday and 10 a.m.-midnight Saturday in downtown El Dorado. The music festival also includes performances by Julie Roberts, Frank Foster, Austin Brown, Randall Shreve and Rachel Hale as well as a Kids’ World, family acts, blow-up carnival amusements and arts and crafts. 9 TIME TRAVEL

The days of sack races, stilt-walking, sorghum-making and blacksmithing comeback at High Cotton on the Bayou, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Scott Plantation Settlement, 15525 Alexander Road in Scott. The annual celebration involves plantation building tours and demonstrations of 19th-century crafts, antique bus and hay wagon rides, and plenty of barbecue. 10 TALENT

Conway wraps up its week-long celebration of the arts as ArtsFest ends on Saturday. The festival includes exhibits, lectures, films, theatrical performances, a JazzFest in Simon Park, the ArtsFest Martketplace and the family-friendly Art in the Park with hands-on activities and an instrument petting zoo.
