A preliminary medical examiner's report shows that a University of Central Arkansas student died this week from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm, Faulkner County Coroner Patrick Moore said Friday.
Authorities responded to a call of an unconscious male student in a bathroom inside Hughes Residential Hall at 8 a.m. Wednesday. The student was identified as Jaykwantay Girley, 18, of Greenbrier, Moore said.
Officials with the coroner's office pronounced Girley dead a short time after university police and MEMS personnel located him.
“We extend our deepest sympathy to the family. We need to remember them in our thoughts and prayers,” UCA President Tom Courtway said in a statement.
