Wal-Mart supplier to announce Rogers factory

ROGERS — Bentonville-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. says one of its suppliers is to open a new manufacturing plant and distribution center in Rogers.

The company says the new business is opening shop in northwest Arkansas as a result of Wal-Mart's program to buy more U.S.-made products. Wal-Mart didn't identify the company. The name and number of jobs will be announced at a Monday news conference.

The president and chief executive officer of Wal-Mart's U.S. business, Bill Simon, is to be on hand for the announcement, as is Gov. Mike Beebe.

Wal-Mart has made a commitment to buy an additional $50 billion in U.S. made products over the coming decade.
