Investigators arrested a Hope woman Monday after she admitted to filing a false police report to cover up her own theft scheme.
Ieisha Blake, 21, initially told police she was taking out the trash at a Triple J Truck Stop in Hope on Sept. 28, when a black man approached her with a gun and told her to get her cash and cigarettes from inside the store, according to a news release from the Hope Police Department.
During the investigation, police said, Blake changed her story several times before she finally told authorities that she and a man, identified as 25-year-old Earl Waters, had "planned and executed the theft."
Blake was charged with theft of property and filing a false police report. Authorities are searching for Waters and ask those with information in the case to call the Hope Police Department at (870) 722-2561.
