Dillon Price and Angelo Conway, both of Little Rock, made initial appearances by video before Little Rock District Court Judge Alice Lightle, who said it is her policy not to set bail for suspects charged with capital murder. Preliminary innocent pleas were also entered during the brief hearings.
Price and Conway were arrested in the death of 68-year-old Charles Pruitt, who was shot inside his Pontiac Grand Prix in the 1500 block of Harrison Street.
Prosecutors said during the hearing that Price told investigators Conway got in the car purporting to be selling drugs but with the intention of robbing Pruitt.
Prosecutors said Price reported observing a struggle inside the vehicle a short time later and that Conway got out and fired back into the car before running off.
The homicide was the 26th so far this year in Little Rock.
