The Salvation Army in North Little Rock has been targeted by thieves for the second time in as many months.
The cleaning staff at The Salvation Army's North Little Rock Worship Center at 5100 Locust St. discovered Friday morning that two air conditioning units had been stolen.
A statement by Salvation Army spokesman Kathy Barbeire didn't give a value estimate for the stolen units.
In mid-August, the Salvation Army's service unit at 1505 W. 18th St. was vandalized by a copper thief who was scared off when he saw that someone had spotted him.
The attempted thief left two piles of copper tubing on the ground directly underneath the building's air-conditioning units and a ladder, police said. Three of the air-conditioning units were destroyed, and another two were partially damaged, causing an estimated $20,000 in overall damage, North Little Rock police said at the time.
