Political Animals to host journalist

The Political Animals Club is welcoming journalist Gene Foreman on Wednesday.

Foreman is a graduate of Arkansas State College (now Arkansas State University), where he studied journalism. He worked at the Pine Bluff Commercial, Arkansas Gazette and Arkansas Democrat before heading East.

After stints at the New York Times and Newsday, he joined the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he served as deputy editor, managing editor and executive editor. The Inquirer received 18 Pulitzer Prizes while Foreman was working there. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Arkansas.

Wednesday’s lunch will be held in the Grand Hall of the Governor’s Mansion, 1800 Center St., in Little Rock. It begins at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $20 per person, but reservations are required by noon Monday. Information about reservations can be obtained by emailing sedwards@ arkindcolleges.org.
