Several Arkansas areas will likely experience showers and thunderstorms starting Saturday afternoon and into next week, the National Weather Service in Little Rock said in a statement.
Rainfall should drop up between 1 to 3 inches and the majority of rain will occur Monday night through Tuesday night, Warning Coordination Meteorologist John Robinson said. There is a small threat of isolated severe storms that would produce large hail and damaging winds.
Western parts of the state may see some storms on Sunday, but chances for severe storms are low, Robinson said. Starting next week, western Arkansas should see an increase in thunderstorms, specifically on Monday night.
From Tuesday into Wednesday, more Arkansas areas should see showers and thunderstorms, Robinson said. Some places are likely to see locally heavy rain.
