The accident occurred about 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the 2600 block of W. Main St. in clear and normal weather conditions, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report.
Officers said David Carlson, 42, was traveling west in a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he purportedly struck a 2007 semi truck that was turning onto westbound Interstate 40. Carlson was taken to Johnson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
West Plains resident Thomas Lee Bramley, 71, who was inside of the semi truck, sustained unspecified injuries and also was taken to JRMC, the report states.
