PROVIDENCE — White County authorities say a 14-year-old boy has died in a house fire in the small town of Providence in northern White County.
Chief Deputy Phillip Miller told The Daily Citizen that the boy's body was found in a bedroom of the home early Sunday morning. Investigators say the boy's 10-year-old sister and 16-year-old brother escaped the home unharmed and that no one else was in the house at the time.
The boy's name was not released and Miller says the body is being sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy and positive identification.
Miller says the cause of the fire has not been determined.
