Ashley LeeAnn Brown became the bride of Dr. Benjamin Lee Davis at 5 p.m Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Ashley-Alexander House in Scott. The Rev. Nathan Mattox of University United Methodist Church in Tulsa officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Deborah and Llewellyn Lee Brown III, 614 N. Spruce St. She is the granddaughter of LaNell and Raymond Toates of Springfield, Mo., the late Elizabeth Ann Cox of Ozark and the late Ann and Llewellyn Lee Brown Jr. of Malvern.
Parents of the groom are Linda Colleen Smith and Erwin Lee Davis, both of Fayetteville. He is the grandson of the late Patty and Harvey Eugene Smith and the late Valta Mae and Thomas Jefferson Davis, all of Fayetteville.
The aisle for the outdoor ceremony was marked with shepherd hooks holding vases of cream, light purple and green hydrangeas. Music was by The Jarboe String Quartet.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fitted gown with a floral lace overlay that extended to a chapel train. The bodice had a scalloped V-neckline, and a satin ribbon at the Empire waist was embellished with crystal beading. She carried a bouquet of peonies, dahlias, orchids, hydrangeas and roses.
Ellyn Brown of San Jose, Calif., served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Skinner and Dr. Lydia Hunjan, both Little Rock; Amanda Morris of Lees Summit, Mo.; Diana Plattner of Fayetteville; and Nicole Moore and Ciara Spillane, both of San Francisco. They wore one-shoulder dark purple chiffon dresses with ruched Empire bodices embellished with a crystal and pearl brooch. Their bouquets were filled with light purple and green hydrangeas.
Junior bridesmaid was Natalie Morris of Lees Summit, niece of the bride. Flower girl and ring bearer were Julianna Mattox of Tulsa, niece of the groom, and Jackson Davis of Hot Springs, son of the groom.
Best man was Chris Watts of Charlotte, N.C. Groomsmen were Matt Davis, brother of groom, and Dr. Jess Daniel, both of Fayetteville; Dr. Christian Hester and Dr. Michael Chappell, both of Little Rock; Dr. Patrick Kennedy of Hot Springs; and Dr. John Barr of Nashville, Tenn. Guests were seated by Heath Morris of Lees Summit; Joe White and Patrick Cowan, both of Little Rock; and Kerwin Davis of Fayetteville.
The reception on the lawn of the home was lighted with strands of lights and lanterns hung from trees as well as lanterns and candles on tables. Tables were centered with vases of neutral-colored hydrangeas, peonies, roses and dahlias and light purple and green hydrangeas.
The bride graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She received a master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. She is a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Hendrix College in Conway and a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also completed his general surgery residency. He is a general surgeon with the Navy.
After a honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains, the couple will live in Hubert, N.C.
