Crews fished from the Arkansas River on Tuesday morning a vehicle that earlier had been reported stolen out of Sherwood.
Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Jason Weaver said boats headed about 6 a.m. to the water off Cook's Landing Road near the Big Dam Bridge on the North Little Rock side of the river after authorities received a report that a vehicle was upside-down in the river. It appeared later that the car was roof-side up, but the open trunk had been sticking out of the water.
A diver entered the water about 6:50 a.m. and did a quick search of the vehicle and didn't see anybody inside.
The car was successfully towed from the water shortly after 7:30 a.m., and authorities verified that nobody was inside.
The car, a blue Ford Focus four-door sedan, had been reported stolen Tuesday in Sherwood, authorities said
