POCAHONTAS — Two men charged in a federal methamphetamine investigation in northeast Arkansas are asking that their November trial be delayed.
Bob Castleman and his son, Robert Jerod Castleman, have also asked to be tried separately. Court filings show the men are accused with several others of running a methamphetamine ring in Randolph County for six years, starting in 2007.
The Jonesboro Sun reported that both men face multiple drug charges.
Another defendant, Thomas Thorn Watson, is set for trial and hasn't asked for a delay. Several other defendants have entered guilty pleas and drawn sentences of probation.
One other man indicted, Travis Blaine Perkins, was shot to death in his Pocahontas apartment in April. The killing is unsolved and came just days before he was to testify in federal court.
