But there is more than one way to get a mouse out of the house, writes Ron Wolfe in Saturday's HomeStyle.

Hardware stores, even grocery stores sell mouse traps. But mice are wary.

When do-it-yourself methods don’t clean out the mice in a week or two, it’s time to call a pest control service, pest control professional Christian Wilcox recommends. If the mice come back, it’s time for help. Chances are, they never left.

Once in, mice are difficult to evict. Ask the farmer’s wife: She cut off their tails with a carving knife. Did you ever see such a sight in your life? But she still had mice.
