2 with guns wrest cash from registers

Little Rock police are looking for two men who robbed a convenience store Wednesday.

Little Rock officers were called to Mapco Mart at 5420 W. 12th St. about 9:40 p.m. after two men walked into the store and pointed guns at two employees, police said.

One of the men demanded money and slammed his gun on the counter and asked an employee if she wanted to die, police said. That employee opened the register.

The man grabbed cash from the register as the second man took money from another register, police said.

The two then ran north on Fair Park Boulevard, police said.

The first gunman is described as a black and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark bluejeans and dark sunglasses. The second man, also black, wore a black hooded sweatshirt, dark bluejeans, and a black mask that covered his nose and mouth.

Both are 18 to 24 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 130 pounds.

Teen out for a walk robbed of cellphone

A Little Rock man was robbed of his cellphone as he walked down the street early Thursday, Little Rock police said.

The 18-year-old was walking in the 1800 block of Marshall Street about 2:05 a.m. when a man with a “Derringer-style handgun” got out of a Mercury Marquis and approached him, police said. The robber demanded all of the man’s belongings.

After taking a cellphone, the gunman left in the Mercury, police said.

The gunman is described as black, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 145 pounds and wore a brown or tan hoodie, dark blue or black jeans, and black shoes.

An Arkansas Baptist College student was robbed of a laptop and cellphone at the school Thursday morning, according to a Little Rock police report.

The student had pulled up to the basketball players’ dormitory on West 19th Street about 2:10 a.m. when he spotted two men walking, police said. After the men passed, the student got out of his car, but the two turned and ran back, police said.

One man pulled a .22-caliber Derringer-style gun and demanded the student’s belongings, police said, adding that the gunman pulled the trigger “a couple of times” though the weapon didn’t discharge.

The two men then fled east.

The gunman is described as black, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 145 pounds and wore a brown or tan hoodie, dark blue or black jeans, and black shoes. The second man is black, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds and wore a dark baseball cap, a black hoodie, dark blue or black jeans, and black shoes.

over ‘pot’ delivery

A Carlisle man was arrested Thursday after receiving a package of marijuana, police said.

A Postal Service inspector contacted North Little Rock police Thursday about a suspicious package addressed to Anthony Gordin, who was at the Quality Inn at 500 W. 29th St., police said.

Gordin had signed for the package, and the postal inspector asked if it contained anything “that could be hazardous,” police said. Gordin “took a deep breath” and said it was marijuana, police said.

After obtaining a search-and-seizure warrant, officers found about 1 pound of marijuana in the package, police said.

Gordin, 33, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was no longer at the Pulaski County jail late Thursday.
