Brewer’s big night carries Cougars over 0-8 Falcons

Quarterback Curly Brewer rushed for 4 touchdowns, threw 1 touchdown pass, completed 2 two-point conversion passes and ran for a two-point conversion to lead Helena-West Helena Central (5-3, 4-1) to a 43-6 victory over the North Pulaski Falcons (0-8, 0-5) Friday night at North Pulaski.

Brewer scored three first-half touchdowns, the first coming less than a minute into the game on a 53-yard run. He scored twice more before halftime, on a 7-yard run with 6:44 to go in the first half and on a 7-yard run just before halftime to give the Cougars a 36-6 halftime lead.

Brewer scored his fourth touchdown late in the third quarter on a 6-yard run to cap the scoring.

Brewer was even involved in North Pulaski’s touchdown, when Steven Farrior intercepted a Brewer pass and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown to make it 28-6 late in the first half.
