Late scores enough for Bald Knob

ROSE BUD - Tristen Falwell’s 76-yard touchdown reception with 1:04 left helped push Bald Knob to its first 3A-2 conference victory of the season, 36-27, over Rose Bud on Friday night at Rambler Stadium.

Bald Knob (2-6, 1-4 3A-2) trailed 27-23 with less than two minutes remaining when Grant Glaze connected with Falwell in stride for the go ahead score. Jacob Gilmore set the final margin when he intercepted an Andrew Adcock desperation pass for the Ramblers on the game’s final play and ran 52 yards for a touchdown.

Rose Bud (2-6, 0-5) went up 27-23 when Adcock connected with Tyler Weatherly on a 13-yard touchdown pass with 4:43 to play and appeared to have the game in hand after holding the Bulldogs to a three-and-out. But Bald Knob stopped Rose Bud senior Cole Robertson on three consecutive runs to get the ball back with 1:50 left.

Robertson rushed 22 times for 143 yards, including 3 touchdowns.

Bald Knob freshman De-Shawn Gulledge scored on a 61-yard reverse on his first career carry, while his first reception went for a 36-yard score with 7:55 left to give the Bulldogs a 23-20 advantage.

RIVERVIEW 28, PERRYVILLE 21

SEARCY - Bennie Watson ran for two touchdowns and David Lee passed for two touchdowns to lead Riverview (4-4, 2-3) to a 2-3A Conference victory over Perryville (3-5, 1-4).

Watson scored on a 12-yard run in the first quarter and a 7-yard run in the third period.

3-3A HOXIE 42, CORNING 14

CORNING - Gunner Cook ran 18 times for 231 yards and 3 touchdowns to help lead unbeaten Hoxie over Corning.

The Mustangs (8-0, 5-0 3-3A) led 35-0 at halftime behind touchdown runs of 41, 17 and 67 yards from Cook.

Junior quarterback Cole Sears added 130 yards and 3 touchdowns on 16 carries. He scored on runs of 9, 20 and 35 yards.

5-3A FOUNTAIN LAKE 54, BENTON HARMONY GROVE 36

HASKELL - Carson Chandler ran for four touchdowns, two coming in the fourth quarter, to help Fountain Lake to a road victory.

Chandler, the Cobras’ quarterback, scored on runs of 7 and 1 yard in the second quarter, and added touchdown runs of 2 and 3 yards in the fourth quarter. Spoon’s touchdowns came from 3 and 30 yards for Fountain Lake (5-3, 4-1 5-3A). Cole Murray also returned a 40-yard interception for a touchdown.

Alex Taylor threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Alex Johnson with 2 seconds left for Benton Harmony Grove (4-4, 2-3).
