Dog attacks boy, 5, at grandma’s house

A 5-year-old was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital after he was attacked by his grandmother’s dog early Friday morning.

According to Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies, the child was with his 71-year-old grandmother, Lula Watson, at her 506 Zinnia St. home, when her dog attacked him.

Deputies said a chunk of the boy’s ear “had been ripped open” by the dog. The boy’s right eye was also injured.

Watson surrendered her four dogs to county animal control officers, and the dogs were quarantined.

Man says pain pills taken by 2 robbers

A Little Rock man said he was robbed of his medication after stopping to offer directions late Thursday morning.

Lorenzo McCoy, 57, was near Asher Avenue and South Woodrow street when a “dark-colored” truck pulled alongside and two men, claiming they weren’t from the area, asked for directions to a mall, police said.

One of the suspects then asked for a cigarette and after McCoy gave him one, the suspect got out of the truck and ordered McCoy to hand over his money.

McCoy told them he had none, so the suspects took the bottle of prescription painkillers in his pocket and then drove off.

The suspect who got out of the truck is described as a white man in his 40s.

The other suspect was only described as a black man.

Skateboard stolen after rider beaten

A Little Rock man said he was beaten and robbed of his skateboard Thursday.

Zachary Schulz, 20, was riding his skateboard in the area of 4500 South University Ave. when a small, silver car pulled up alongside him and two men stepped out, asking for a cigarette, police reports say.

The pair shoved Schulz to the ground, reports said, and started hitting him and trying to wrest his board from him.

The suspects fled in the silver car, which police were able to identify as a 2004 Dodge Neon after a witness reported the car’s license plate.

The two suspects who attacked Schulz are described as black teenagers, one who was 5-foot-8, 140 pounds and wore a gray jacket and white shirt. The other was slightly taller and weighed the same.

A third suspect in the car is only described as a black man, reports say.

Police: NLR man shot after drug deal

A North Little Rock man was shot near his groin Thursday after a drug deal went bad,police said.

About 9:40 p.m., North Little officers were called to 1522 Chandler St. on a shooting report. There, they found John Grimes, 28, with a gunshot wound on a bedroom floor, police said.

Grimes and a woman in the home told officers that a man came over to buy marijuana when Grimes and the man got into an argument on the porch, police said. The man fired several rounds at Grimes, striking him once, police said.

The gunman, who wore a blue jumpsuit and a black San Antonio Spurs cap, fled north, police said.

Grimes was taken to UAMS Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

2nd man arrested in west LR robbery

The second man accused of holding up two people at a Little Rock apartment complex was arrested Friday, police said.

Montreal Hunt, 30, surrendered and was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property. He was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where he was awaiting a bail hearing Friday.

On Sept. 22, Cody Ussery and Davina Darling were walking to their 1912 Green Mountain Drive apartment when a man with a sawed off shotgun approached them.

A second man joined the gunman, and the two patted down the residents, taking wallets, cellphones and about $60, police said.

Police on Oct. 16 arrested Stanley Wilson, 23, in connection with the same robbery.
