2-4A LONOKE 66, MARIANNA 18

LONOKE - Senior wide receiver Blake Mack had 172 total yards and two touchdowns to help Lonoke to a home victory.

Mack, who has orally committed to Arkansas State, caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Kody Smith and ran 81 yards for another touchdown in the first half.

Sophomore tailback Josh Coleman ran 10 times for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Jackrabbits (6-2, 4-1 2-4A) and Cedric Cooney returned interceptions 31 and 30 yards for second-quarter touchdowns. Lonoke led 52-6 at halftime.

NEWPORT 27, CLINTON 21

CLINTON - Kristen Crite threw a 35-yard halfback pass to Garrett Smith for the winning touchdown with 34 seconds to play to lift Newport (6-2, 3-2 2-4A) to a victory over Clinton (3-5, 2-3).

Khairon Stafford led Newport’s defense with 16 tackles.

Clinton’s touchdowns came on runs of 5 and 3 yards by Harrison Luster and a7-yard run by Fielder Dufrene.

HEBER SPRINGS 42, SOUTHSIDE BATESVILLE 13

HEBER SPRINGS - Senior quarterback Michael Kramer rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another to lead Heber Springs (2-6, 2-3) past Southside Batesville (2-6, 1-4) in a 2-4A conference game.

Kramer finished the night with 11 carries for 79 yards and completed 7 passes in 8 attempts for another 115 yards through the air.

Junior running back Chandler Marquardt rushed three times for 59 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown run, for the Panthers. Junior running back Chandler Jones added a 7-yard touchdown run for Heber Springs.

3-4A BROOKLAND 40, TRUMANN 38 OT

TRUMANN - Brookland (4-4, 1-4 3-4A) scored three touchdowns in the final 2:16 of regulation then won in overtime over Trumann (1-7, 0-5).

Drake Rainwater passed to Devon Newton for a touchdown in overtime and Clay Humphrey ran for the 2-point conversion to pull out the victory. Trumann scored on its ensuing possession but Kevin Hulett’s tackle stopped the 2-point attempt.

Brookland forced the overtime on Rainwater’s 12-yard touchdown pass and Blake Yarbrough’s pass to Newton for a 2-point conversion with 1 second left in regulation.

Yarbrough had scored on a 4-yard run with 2:16 to play. After Trumann scored 15 seconds later, Rainwater followed with a 36-yard pass to Newton for a touchdown with 1:26 remaining.

Rainwater passed for 166 yards, completing 13 of 24 attempts with 3 touchdowns. Newton had 7 catches for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Trey Newman led the Brookland defense with 11 tackles and a fumble recovery and Corey Chesser had 10 tackles. Aden Sharpe and Kyle Metcalf each had a recovered fumble.

GOSNELL 28, POCAHONTAS 0

GOSNELL - Dwight Griffin and Colton Godsey led Gosnell (7-1, 5-03-4A) past Pocahontas (4-4, 2-3).

Godsey returned a fumble 23 yards for a touchdown and caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Griffin.

The Pirates extended a 14-0 halftime lead on two third-quarter touchdowns, a 12-yard run by Marcus Mullins and a 16-yard run by Griffin.

Mullins finished with 49 rushing yards on 19 carries. Griffin completed 5 of 13 passes for 87 yards.

Spencer Tanner ran 12 times for 73 yards for the Redskins.

HIGHLAND 40, CAVE CITY 17

HARDY - Junior utility back Avery Johnson rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns to help Highland to a home victory.

Sophomore quarterback Reid Maag also ran for two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass for the Rebels (6-2, 3-2 3-4A). Cave City fell to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the 3-4A.

7-4A NASHVILLE 55, PULASKI ROBINSON 28

NASHVILLE - Junior quarterback Lucas Liggin completed 19 of 26 passes for 264 yards and 5 touchdowns as Nashville ( 5-3, 3-2) rolled to a victory over Pulaski Robinson (4-4, 1-4).

Junior receiver Lamichael Pettway was Liggin’s favorite target, making 8 catches for 68 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Leonard Snell added 2 catches for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Scrapper.

8-4A DUMAS 41, DEWITT 13

DEWITT - Ryan Miller passed for three touchdowns to help Dumas (2-6,2-3) beat 8-4A rival DeWitt (4-4, 2-3).

J.C. Spinks had a touchdown reception and returned an intercepted pass for a touchdown for Dumas.

Keondrick Spencer, Brentson Neal and R.J. Bailey all scored for Dumas.

STAR CITY 49, LAKE VILLAGE 18

LAKE VILLAGE - Sophomore quarterback Tye Brown completed 15 of 23 passes for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Star City ( 5-3, 3-2) past Lake Village (1-7, 0-5) in an 8-4A Conference game.

Brown threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Darien Chaney and a 7-yard scoring toss to Bo McBrown as Star City built a 35-12 halftime lead. Darien Washington added a 10-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs in the first half.

Brown’s third touchdown pass went 49 yards to Toney Matthews in the third quarter, which also saw Star City’s L.J. Shelton score on a 27-yard run.
