Jennifer Lauren May became the bride of John Michael Gardiner at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in The Ebell of Los Angeles. Andrea Maier of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Glendale, Calif., officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Carolyn and James M. May III, 35 Robinwood Drive. She is the granddaughter of the late Gladys and James M. May of North Little Rock, the late Betsy Reardon of Clinton, Miss., and the late Joseph J. Reardon of LaGrange, Ga.

Susan and Ray Gardiner of La Plata, Md., are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Sally and Carl Gaither of Decatur, Ill., and the late Earline and Claude W. Gardiner of Saraland, Ala.

Vows were exchanged under a curly willow arch decorated with cascading hydrangeas, white roses and dendrobium orchids. Music was by a string trio.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown with a softly ruched strapless sweetheart bodice and asymmetrical train. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, miniature calla lilies and lisianthus.

Amanda Alsbrook of Dallas was maid of honor. The bride’s attendants were Jaclyn Lerner and Eric Cornell, both of New York. The women attendants wore plum-colored dresses of peau de seau and carried cream roses and purple lisianthus.

Shaun Ritter of Pasadena, Calif., was best man. Groomsmen were Bing Putney of Los Angeles and Dustin Fadale of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Guests were seated by James M. May IV of Little Rock, brother of the bride; and Raymond Gardiner of Arlington, Va., and Daniel Gardiner of La Plata, brothers of the groom.

The reception was also held at The Ebell of Los Angeles. Guest tables held crystal candelabra centered with arrangements of white hydrangeas, cream and sterling silver roses, aubergine calla lilies and dendrobium orchids. Music was by The Replicas.

The bride is a summa cum laude graduate of Emerson College in Boston with a bachelor’s degree in theater management. She has a master’s degree in business administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where she was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She is a special projects manager for Designmatters at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in film from Emerson and is a cinematographer.

After a wedding trip to Jackson Hole, Wyo., the couple will live in Los Angeles.
