Man tells officers drugs in vehicle his

A North Little Rock man is facing several drug charges after police found his abandoned vehicle with drugs “in plain sight” at a gas station, according to an arrest report.

North Little Rock officers were called just after 9:30 p.m. Friday to 4622 Camp Robinson Road at the Shell gas station where a vehicle was abandoned in the parking lot with its motor running, police said. Officers saw two bags of marijuana and a bag with different pills in the center console, police said.

Officers couldn’t find the vehicle owner, so they towed it. When inventorying the vehicle contents, they found a black bag with scales, many small plastic bags and an identification card for Courtney Grandy, police said.

Looking at the store’s surveillance footage, officers spotted a man getting out of the vehicle, going into the gas station and leaving the business in a different car, the report states. The man matched Grandy’s description from the identification card, police said.

Grandy went to a police substation at 4610 Camp Robinson Road about 2:30 a.m. Saturday to “take responsibility,” the report states.

In a later interview, Grandy admitted to driving the abandoned vehicle and owning the pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the report states.

“He stated he wished to turn himself in to take responsibility for his actions,” the report states.

Grandy, 30, was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule III drug with purpose to deliver, possession of a Schedule IV drug with purpose to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was no longer at the Pulaski County jail late Saturday.
