Traffic in both directions on the Interstate 30 bridge over the Arkansas River is congested after a four-car accident occurred Monday morning, Arkansas State Police trooper Jerry Oglesby said.

About 9:30 a.m., the accident started near the Broadway Street exit on I-30 westbound, where one unidentified red vehicle traveling in the fast lane rear-ended a silver sport utility vehicle, Oglesby said. The SUV stopped, and the red vehicle attempted to go around it when it struck a passing silver Grand Marquis. This caused the silver Grand Marquis to spin out of control and hit another unidentified car, he said.

Four people were involved in the accident and only one injury has been reported so far, Oglesby said. The unidentified woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

"She was talking when I talked to her in the ambulance," Oglesby said.

He said none of the other drivers in the accident has been taken to a hospital.
