State GOP lawmakers vent concerns on health law

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas' Republican U.S. House members and senator are venting concerns about the federal health-care law's implementation in a letter to U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

U.S. Reps. Rick Crawford, Tim Griffin, Steve Womack and Tom Cotton and U.S. Sen. John Boozman sent the letter Monday about the impact the 2010 law will have on insurance plans in Arkansas and the rollout of the insurance exchanges created under the overhaul.

In the letter, the lawmakers asked Sebelius to provide information by Nov. 1 about the federal government's knowledge of the impact the law would have on state insurance providers, state stakeholders' knowledge of the exchange's status before its Oct. 1 launch and the number of people who have been able to enroll in Arkansas.
