Har-Ber DE commits to Hogs

Springdale Har-Ber defensive end Jake Hall received a scholarship offer from Arkansas on Wednesday night and on Sunday night orally committed to the Razorbacks.

Hall, 6-5, 230 pounds, picked the Hogs over offers from Cincinnati and Louisiana-Monroe along with interest from Oklahoma State and Memphis. He said he called Coach Bret Bielema and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge about 9:30.

“They said people like me are what they want to build their program on,” Hall said.

He and his parents visited with Bielema on Wednesday night and was informed of the offer.

Hall, who has recorded 50 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a pass deflection, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble this season, was an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette preseason All Arkansas selection.

Hall, who’s rated a 3-star plus prospect by national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network, said he is looking forward to working with Partridge and strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert.

“There’s really not a better situation for me,” Hall said. “I’m going to work with Coach Partridge and Coach Herb. I can’t wait to get up there and go to work. I’ve always been a Razorback fan and it’s a dream come true and all the hard work has paid off.”

Hall is Arkansas’ 18th commitment for the 2014 class.
