Robbery victim shot at after following assailants

A 26-year-old DeWitt man and his girlfriend were shot at Monday when they followed three men who robbed him at gunpoint in Little Rock, authorities said.

The victim told investigators he was going to a clothing store at 9101 W. Markham St. about 3:45 p.m. when he was called into a parked vehicle by a man he had met before "but does not really know," according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Police say the man the victim knew then pulled out a gun and robbed him of $500 in cash, a cellphone and $3,800 in jewelry.

The victim handed over the items, got out of the vehicle and fled back to his, where he told his girlfriend to follow the robber's car to get the license plate number, the report said.

The victim's vehicle followed the robbers to Cunningham Lake Road, where the other vehicle stopped, the gunman got out and fired once, police said. The bullet hit the windshield on the driver's side of the victim's car.

The gunman then returned to his vehicle and it fled from the area. The victims went to a nearby grocery store to contact authorities.

No arrests have been made.
