VOLLEYBALL Begic honored again by Sun Belt
UALR’s Edina Begic was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. It was the sixth such honor this season and ninth in the career of the junior outside hitter from Bosnia.
Begic, who leads the Sun Belt with 5.24 kills per set this season, had 28 kills in a sweep of Troy on Friday night, and 19 in a four-set loss at Texas-Arlington on Sunday.
FOOTBALL Harvard kicker honored
Harvard kicker Andrew Flesher, a native of Little Rock who played at Episcopal Collegiate, was named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week.
Flesher made all six extra points in a triple-overtime loss to Princeton Saturday. He also made field goals of 38 and 23 yards.
