2 Arkansans dead after road crashes

Two Arkansans died Tuesday in separate accidents on state roads, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality crash reports.

About 6:20 a.m., Mitchell Head, 27, of Tillar was getting out of a vehicle on U.S. 65 near Arkansas 388 when a southbound 2004 Freightliner ran into him, state police said. Head died of his injuries about an hour later, state police said.

The tractor-trailer driver, Dallas Boyce, 45, of Bald Knob, was uninjured.

Around 8 p.m., Fred Moore, 73, of Magnolia was driving south on U.S. 79 North in Columbia County when his 1999 Ford Taurus veered into the opposite lane and off the road, state police said. Moore then ran into a culvert, overturning his car, state police said.

He died of his injuries.
