BENTON — State and federal authorities say several marijuana plants have been seized from the Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says its officers worked with the Benton Police Department, Saline County sheriff's office and U.S. Forest Service to seize multiple marijuana plants found growing in the Winona Wildlife Management Area about 30 miles west of Little Rock.
The wildlife area is managed in cooperation with the Forest Service and Game and Fish.
The Game and Fish Commission says the plants were found by wildlife officers working a separate case with a Forest Service law officer. The commission says 1.5 pounds of cultivated marijuana and multiple illegally modified firearms were later found.
The commission says suspects have been arrested, but no names were released.
