Man escapes armed robbery; nearly $5,000 reported stolen

A Little Rock man narrowly escaped an armed robbery Wednesday night, but not before the robbers made away with nearly $5,000 worth of his belongings.

The 23-year-old male victim was parked outside his apartment at 5 Par Drive shortly after 11 p.m., when three unknown black men approached him with a 9mm handgun and ordered him inside his home, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

Once inside, the report states, the robbers ordered the victim to the floor and one put a pillow over the victim's head. The victim said the robbers eventually "became relaxed" and were no longer paying attention to him, so he fled to another apartment and called police.

The robbers drove away in two vehicles: a black Chevrolet Malibu and a 2010 blue Chevrolet Camaro, which had been reported stolen, police said. The report lists the Camaro's license-plate number as 850 SNW.

The stolen items, which are reported to amount to about $4,927, include 13 pairs of Nike Air Jordan shoes, a black Dell laptop and about $2,000 worth of clothing, the report states.
