Sonali Deraniyagala, a professor at Columbia University in New York, will speak at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service on Monday.
Deraniyagala wrote Wave about losing her family in the Dec. 26, 2004, tsunami while on vacation with her husband, parents and two sons in Sri Lanka.
A book signing will follow the 6 p.m. event in Sturgis Hall.
