There was a time, not too long ago, when Cody Belew’s name was familiar only to Arkansans — those who might see it listed on a club announcement about a forthcoming performance, or in this newspaper’s High Profile section, when he was mentioned as the entertainment at a wedding, Linda S. Haymes writes in Tuesday's Style section.
But the 28-year-old Beebe native is more than a wedding singer. Move over, Adam Sandler.
With today’s release of Belew's debut full-length album, What You’re Looking For, he is making good on his earlier promise to fans he gained during his appearance on NBC’s singing competition The Voice.
“I said I would write music that was danceable, timeless and full of energy, and [that] would fill a void in what’s out there right now,” Belew says. “I feel I delivered that and I hope the fans agree.”
