Authorities are discontinuing a search for a fisherman whose boat flipped Tuesday morning on the Arkansas River.
Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Jason Weaver said crews searched about three hours and found no signs of the man.
"They would've spotted him by now. Either he's made it to shore and he's somewhere else, or it would become a recovery," Weaver said.
Weaver said the sheriff's office was also suspending its search, as were the Arkansas State Police, who brought in a helicopter to look from above.
Weaver said earlier that two fisherman ended up in the water shortly before 7:30 a.m. when the boat flipped roughly a mile-and-a-half south of the Terry Lock and Dam.
One man reportedly swam to the shore. The other, who has not been found, was reported to have swam the other direction, Pulaski County sheriff's office Lt. Carl Minden said.
